When Jesse Jackson read Green Eggs on Weekend Update, it  brought the book to life for me. Nearly 30 years after it aired, it not only still makes me laugh, it makes me feel good.

 

Jackson's appearance was also ranked by Entertainment Weekly as SNL's #1 Political Cameo of all time. Clearly, I am not the only one who recognized it's greatness.

So, when the producers of the Content Marketing Conference asked me to be a keynote presenter for the Comedy Day, with the request to discuss the intersection of comedy, content & marketing, a light went off in my head.​

I would break down the bit into 3 parts:

 

1) Why Theodore Geisel warranted an SNL tribute.

2) Why Green Eggs and Ham best represents Dr. Seuss

3) Why we laugh at Jesse Jackson reading it.
